Holden was born in Portsmouth in Hampshire. She spent the majority of her childhood living in Bishop's Waltham. When she was nine she joined the Bishop's Waltham Little Theatre Company. Holden is also a part of TV credits, including three shows together with Caroline Quentin and Chris Langham in the comedy Kiss Me Kate, three episodes on ITV's The Grimleys and Celeb With Harry Enfield, and a special Agatha Christie episode "4.50 from Paddington" for Boxing Day. Co-starring alongside Bill Nighy (and Tom Courtenay) in Ready When You Are Mr. McGill, Jack Rosenthal's comedy drama. Alongside Alesha Dixon David Walliams and Simon Cowell, Holden is a judge on Britain's Got Talent. She joined the show in the year 2006.
